Only used them twice, this was my first try. Shrunk from bsl to shoulder. I liked it better the day after, when it had relaxed a little. It's a long time since I used them, but as far as I remember, it was the long and wide. (Pink and yellow) They were easy to use, but it did take some time getting all your hair covered. Havn't really experimented with styles and such, but maybe I will now. Forgot I had them :D

Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
That looks awesome!
Their opionion on what is 'long' hair seems to differ from mine, though... *g* It says that their 'extra long' curlformers are for hair up to 22 inches, which is basically where my hair is right now. I never thought my hair would need 'extra long' anything at this point! :p And it sort of makes me sad, since I would love to try it but I'm not sure if there's any point in buying them now if I'm about to outgrow them.

Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
*bump* I want to see pics on Curlformers as well!
-
Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
I used the extra long curlformers. My hair was waist length here and a little longer than the curlformers.

Wow! They really work even on waist length hair! Did the hair hold that way all day?
Your hair looks gorgeous!!!!
I'm so wanting these now!!!!!!! :cheese:
schweedie: I read somewhere that you can just double them up, so you don't have to worry about your hair getting too long, just the expense of needing double the curlers. :)

Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
Those curls held for DAYS! I was rough on them that night(wedding reception) and my hair was pretty tangled. I actually brushed them out and oiled my hair and the curls popped back out and still looked amazing. I had put the curlformers in the night before on very damp hair and left them in the next day until I was getting ready for the wedding.

Ok, now I want to go tomorrow and buy these things!!!!!!! :cheese:

Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
There are unbranded ones on eBay which are apparently straight from the factory and thus a lot cheaper than the Curlformers.

Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
I just pulled them down to the ends, so the curls didn't go all the way to my scalp. I think I'd have to double up now that I'm at hip now though.

Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
Do you happen to have the URL for that place handy? I almost bought some at Sally's today, but I didn't have time to stop there. I'll have to check out these others too. Thanks for the tip. :)

Yes, it's because you're new. I can't remember if it's 25+ messages or 50 when you can see the pictures. :)

What do you search for if they're not called curlformers?

Haha, I would go for the cheap ones the other ladies have posted! It's just a silly curly thing, I'd go with the cheapy ones.
-
Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
I ended up bidding on the more expensive ones because you only get 18 pieces for the cheap ones.. and only 9 of those are large!
I'd rather just get 40 of the fullsize so I'm safe for sure that way. :) I just have to hope I'm not out-bid now.

Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
hello ladies!- just to add to the mix that I love Curlformers too! - I don't have any recent pics but I use them for Weddings and saturday nights and I even pop them in on a Sunday night for a curly look Monday morning!!!- You can put them in damp hair and let them dry naturally over night or a couple of hours before going out - and you can also use a hairdryer on them- but just use a low heat as you are just drying your hair normally, no need to use the high heat and damage the hair! My curls tend to last 3 days, with day three going onto the beach wave tousles...! You can definately double up Curlformers on one section of hair if you have really long hair and also you can put Curlformers in, and slide them down the section of hair to reach the tip- so you get the flat on top, curly on bottom look!!- I tried it several times and they don' t fall out at all and the finished look is gorgeous!- looks like i went to a salon!hope this helps!

Hello ladies! - just to add to the mix that I love Curlformers too! - you can definitely double them up on a section of hair and you can also slide them down the section of hair to the tip and you'll get that flat on top- curly on bottom look which looks gorgeous! - However I emailed them about the 'other ones' on sale on ebay and the company informed me that these are counterfeits and are currently pursuing them by the law because they are being sold illegally. Basically, if we buy them under any other name or from an unofficial outlet (you can get them them from the Curlformers website or Sallys), then they are poor quality counterfeits which break and customers have no guarantee, AND they are illegally coming into the country and i really don't want to give my good money to that!!- enough of the heavy stuff!- get them on the website or Sallys- they way cover the cost of going to a salon and getting your hair done, because you can use them over and over!!- I've had mine for over a year. have fun!

I think I'll get mine from Sally's then! :cheese:
Please do take some pictures the next time you use your Curlformers! We'd really love to see them! :blossom:

Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
At 4 dollars each, I can go through 15 sets before they cost the same as the 'official' ones. There's no way I'm paying 60 bucks for wire/fabric tubing. If total rip offs get undercut, I'm not really horrified or surprised.

Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
The user's first post from 28 July 2010, and their only post up to until May 2011 when they returned to post about ... Curlformers. The YouTube upload linked to was posted on 11 July, pretty fast work for Lilyrose to be spreading the word within a couple of weeks. NikkiMae says she was given the Curlformers free, so it would make sense a company representative knows about the positive review quickly.

Yep! I've bought them, tried them and love them!!- I got the Extra Long and wide and they give a great result on my fine, wavy/fuzzy hair. I also got the extra wide ones because I wanted to get bigger curls and I agree with Countryhopper, they work really well further down the hair. They are quite pricey but on the other hand i've used them so many times since i got them and I can't see myself throwing them away so I'd say its a long term investment
- and to answer about the ebayers- I wouldn't go near those ones!!
I read a post on another forum where Curlformers/Hair Flair wrote about them and its scary!! - they're counterfeits, illegal, and there is no guarantee on the length and width you get because the frauds cut them at any length but don't tell you that so you don't know what you're buying :scared:
anyway- I got them from the official website, theres the full range and the product description so no guessing.:)
So anyway hope this helps?! has anybody else tried'em and loved'em??
BTW have you seen this great vlog about them?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VMzDUBiaiI&feature=fvsr
okay, okay, I know i'm just too into them, but when you find a hair accessory that just works....!!

Reported to the mods, sorry but there are two different versions of events here. I don't see anywhere on Curlformers website that the product is US made; also seems a complex product to counterfeit unlike the Goody spin pins, for example. Personally I wouldn't give my money to a company that posts on a forum disingenuously. :(
Paypal and eBay protect from a product being not as described (e.g. wrong lengths) for a period of six weeks after purchase. In the UK we are protected by the Sale of Goods Act (item must be fit for purpose, reasonable quality) and Distance Selling Regulations (returnable for any reason). The seller I saw was based in the UK, and the listing was in decent English.

Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
Linky to Curlformers alternative Magic Leverag on Amazon, including reviews. Two people seem to have been short-changed, not sure why they gave a negative instead of contacting Amazon's awesome customer service. There are also a number of YouTube reviews of Magic Leverag.
Linky to branded Curlformers on Amazon, including very positive reviews. A spare hook can be purchased separately if you need one for the knock-offs. Linky to Curlformers official statement on NaturallyCurly.com regarding Magic Leverag specifically.
The ones I saw on eBay are not branded in this manner, they are listed under Curlformers (all one word) and are being sent from within the US. There are also Magic Leverag branded ones coming straight out of Hong Kong listed as Curl Formers (with the space). These from Italy seem slightly different again ....

Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
The curlformers website had a very good point about cost though. When it comes down to it, price from curler to curler works out very similar. If they're the original creator of them, I think I'll stick to the main maker. :p Non-counterfeit items tend to be of a higher quality!
I don't think lilyrose79's posts meant any harm to be honest.. Sounds more like a satisfied customer happy with a product! It's possible she's read forums, AND e-mailed them. A fan of the product would potentially google them and find other forums with information. It's a bit odd in the sense that it was in 2 seperate posts from the 2 different sources, but I doubt it's the company endorsing their products. There are better ways to advertise than going on a specialised forum (specialising in a certain topic) whereas they could just advertise and reach millions. A company would never describe their own product as 'quite pricey' too. Bad marketing. Seems like someone who just loves their curlformers to me!

I posted the links for branded Curlformers so everyone could decide for themselves as you have. :) I see other discrepancies/ minor flags in the earlier posts but there is no need to dissect it line by line, simply to make the mods and LHCers aware of the main issue. Personally I don't think the Magic Leverage work out to be great value for anyone with medium or longer hair, since the sizes are fixed. That is not the same with all the knock-off versions.

I used the long and wide, and the long and narrow. I enjoy them, they're very easy to use. My only complaint is that when I took my stick out of the box and tried to put it together, it broke. :(
-
Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
I'm curious how this works. Does your hair need to be damp before you put the curlers in?

Wow! Great picture! Thanks for sharing! :flower:
Sorry to hear that the stick broke. :grouphug:
How many days did your curls last?
-
Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
Absolutely georgeous all of these curls! :crush:
My hair is probably still too short for using them (don't really want a big head full of chin length ringlets *lol*), but I'll certainly put those on my Amazon wish list for later! :)
-
Re: Curlformers hair success pics! :)
I brushed my own curls out two days in, but after I brushed them, my hair was still wavy and curly. And yes you typically put them in wet. They're a spiral mesh tube, you pull wet hair through with a long stick and your hair dries in a spiral shape.
