No, but I'm intrigued.
Can you find a pic of this online?
I've just been watching Dirty Harry and a couple of the girls have their hair tied up in bunches with what looks like mega-super-thick wool. I suddenly thought a) I remember loads of girls doing that when I was a kid in the 70s, and b) I don't remember seeing that since I was a kid in the 70s!
Does anybody still use that wool stuff? Does that wool stuff even exist any more? Does anybody under the age of 40 even know what I mean?

I have been so wanting to find those lately. Along with decent hair marbles.
I figure I can re-live my childhood when I'm hanging around the house.

I remember seeing girls on Sesame Street with big wool in the hair when I was little. I think Mum even used some of her macrame wool in my hair too. Yep a real blast from the past lol.
ohhhhhhh! I didn't get what you meant at first, but the pictures brought it all back!
We had those in every color
Those ties appear to be a crocheted chain, made with yarn. You could use acrylic yarn, instead of wool, thereby making them washable. I have one thagt I made using variegated acrylic yarn. It's very pretty, but I have never worn it in public, as I feel it would look rather weird on a 60-year-old woman.
My mom used to use those wool ties in my hair when I was a kid. I remember the elastic and marble bands as well, loved those.
AHHHHHHH...wow, talk about childhood memories!!! I think I had every color in the rainbow of these hair ties !
