Scrunchie picture thread

It seems people either love scrunchies or hate them with passion and hope to never see anybody with them on. What's your feelings towards them?

As for myself, I just discovered them a couple years ago, believe it or not.

I like them a lot, though as I don't wear ponytails any more, I only use them for night time. I wasn't here in the 80s and don't have good or bad memories associated with them.

I got them and they used to be the only thing I used but now I have found a smaller completly cloth kind at the dollar store That I just love, though I am constantly losing them, good thing they are 5 for $1, I keep a few extra in my car for emergancies, though I usually just wind up wearing it on my wrist.

I have 30+ scrunchies (mostly velvet ones) and I wear them all the time.

I used to love those big, fluffy, velvet covered scrunches. The velvet gave it more "grip" on the hair, while still allowing it to be slippery soft enough that it never pulled or stretched my strands.

Then I read some fashion mag that said scrunchies are the worst fashion misstep ever, and I quit wearing them.

I still don't know why they're so horribly awful, I think the velvet makes them pretty and unique. And they tend to come in colors I love - burgundy, deep navy blue, pearly white, black...

I'm probably going to give in at some point and buy a bunch again. It's not as though I dress incredibly fashionably anyway.

Scrunchies and sticks are all I use at the moment. Hair ties hold my hair really tight and I feel like they are doing some kind of damage. Scrunchies have a good hold and don't seem to damage my hair as much.

I have oodles of scrunchies. But, I rarely use them. So, I neither love nor hate- I think they are okay.

I only use them at night for a loose bun- I'm still scarred by wearing them with the side ponytails in the '90s

Got lots of them. I only wear them inside. I like the deep sparkling colour of the velvet ones.

I love 'em. They don't damage my hair at all, since there are no metal bits and they have plenty of slack. They're the best thing in the world for a quick ponytail, and I can stuff one or two into the small pocket of my wallet for emergencies - I can't do that with hairsticks.

I have one velvet scrunchie that I use in the house. I personally think that scrunchies are rather immature looking, and I quit using them after High School. I reserve them for in house use only...

When I use a hair tie, I prefer a thin elastic that matches my hair. Other than that I use pins, sticks or a fork.
