I use aloe to hold up do's and as a leave in. It can make my hair a bit "crunchy" but since my hair does not tangle, I can just run a brush lightly through it to soften it up again.

I use Fruit of the Earth brand, purchased at Walmart.

I've tried aloe vera in my hair, but have not found it beneficial or useful. It does not 'hold' my flyaway, fine hair at all, and does not seem to condition or strengthen or do anything else. I think it's one of those things that works for some but not all.

Aloe gel works best for me if I mix it with a tiny dab of coconut oil. Then, it's awesome and I don't get any of the crunchy feeling.

For something all natural, have you been following the occasional discussions that come up in the wurly and curly thread (mane forum) about flaxseed gel? I think Glasseyes has been using it and is a fan, if memory serves...

Me too, Essentially, I take a little Nyquil medicine cup (used the same one for a couple of years now) and put in a little oil (about 1/8 tsp) and then I just breathe on it to melt it. Squirt in some aloe gel and mix with my finger.
I apply it to damp hair, comb well, plop or scrunch, or roll it on rollers, or damp bun, or just let it hang. It took me 35 YEARS to discover a way to get rid of the frizz. IT WORKS.

I was actually reading your frizzbuster gel thread the other day, Gladtobemom. It works REALLY well!
