Yeah and also ayurvedic is to be used with improving diet and also doing some light excersise its a whole system and not be taken lightly. The use for the ayurvedic doctor is to diagnose what your body needs or doesnt need so he will recommend to you the right oils and food balance that will work for your body and hair problem.

I wasn't going to do anything with my hair today, but....I ended up with the day off unexpectedly and got bored So, Here's what I ended up doing. It's not as complicated as it sounds, and I didn't need to buy anything, I just threw together stuff I had in the house.

ETA: Ktani, this will be my first time attempting to add the Honey Lightening to a Henna/Cassia Gloss.

I can't seem to get my hair clean with Shikakai powder - I've tried equal parts Shikakai and Amla, less Amla, and no Amla; a thick mud, a thin paste, and a liquid; pre-oiling scalp and length, length only, light pre-oiling and heavier pre-oiling; and I'm always a limp, greasy, itchy mess the next day! Should I try soapnuts instead? Has anyone else had this problem with Shikakai but soapnuts worked for them?

Maybe your hair needs more cleansing power neen maybe try aritha with shikakai and see how that works for your hairs. Also how long are you leaving the shikakai on before you rinse it off?

It should work out just fine, IMO. Please update and let everyone know how it goes.

I can only use Shikakai as an add in to Aritha, It doesn't work alone for me at all. Even the Aritha had a hard time getting the pre-oiling out completely and I often have to do 2 washings anytime I pre-oil. As an example, the treatment I did yesterday had oil in it, and I washed it with Soapnuts last night after rinsing the treatment out. The hair was less oily, but still definetly oily, so I put it in 2 side braids and they are still in today. I will rewash with the Soapnuts (maybe with shikakai added to help) tonight to get the rest of the oil out. When I don't pre oil the soapnuts work really good and sometimes too good so I pre-oil only once a week and wash only 2-3 times.

I notice letting is sit longer with the pre-oiling does help a lot, but I have yet to get the oil out the first time around. Maybe some day I'll get it straight.

It is my understandg the the pre oiling is to allow some of the oil to be left behind to condition the hair and help prevent dryness.

    Maybe Aisha25 can clarify this.

Yeah ktani its supposed to wash out the extra oil. So it wont feel like after you use shampoo cause unlike shampoo it doesnt strip all the oils out of the hair. This is what makes the hair stronger in the long run. If you feel like your hair is too oily after washing with herbs than just try to oil the scalp and canopy hairs and then lightly oil the bottom hairs after the wash. Maybe that will help some

Thank you. That makes sense to me. Some people's scalps produce very little oil. So pre oiling is to make up for that and keep aritha from taking too much out of the hair.
