For those of you buying expensive Minocozle cream, or how ever you spell that. hee hee. I see they are now selling it at "Dollar Tree" stores. $1 for that, you can't beat that price.

Unless I'm missing something, I still have not found a vegan version of this. I've been comparing ingredients from memory, so I could be wrong on some things. I am going to take my list of animal ingredients to the store and sit in the aisle until I find something that will work for me. I want faster growth. I get 1/4" per month, if that, and average about 4-5 inches per year. Even if I could get only 6" per year I'd be happier!
Also, I am SO glad I've been able to read this since the start. Trying to catch up on an 80 page+ thread was not fun![]()
I tested my hair and these are my not so scientific results:
started monistat (the good stuff) March 20th 4% untill I ran out and then 2% aprox 1/2 the month on each.
1 inch of cream to aprox 3 tablespoons of warm water shack up and apply to dry hair with a squeeze bottle.
massage well. left in over night and as long as I could sometimes a full night and next day.
apply for one month every 3-4 days
1 inch growth at one month!!! Yippie!!!
I wanted to see what I would get w/o
stopped applying: April 18thish (is that even a word?)
May 15th
NO!!!! GROWTH!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
unless i grow it like crazy in the next three days I got nada... nothing... need I say more!!
I am going back to Monistat asap!

I AM TRIUMPHANT!!! I found a creme for athletes foot that is vegan and contains miconazole nitrate 2%. YAY. It also has mineral oil, but I'll ignore that for the time being. FYI, I called Monistat, and all of their products have animal ingredients.
I'll start the experiment the next time I wash my hair. Probably Saturday. Weee!!
DH said he'd even try it if it works LMAO.. and he was giving me such a hard time when I mentioned it a few months ago haha
I can just picture this conversation, Garnett! "Id like to try your product, but I dont want animal products on my head!" "Ummm...."
Results from baseline growth for one month. OK I started using MN without a baseline. So I went back and this last month did 2 baseline pictures. All I know is that I never cut my hair for years back in HS and it never got past BSL. My friends hair would grow and they would cut it back every summer and by the end of the summer it was longer then mineSo I knew I was a slw grower at least compared to friends.
With MN my hair grew a little over a an inch a month. Without it it looks like nothing happened at all, no growth. This saddens me a little, maybe I will necer have knee legnth hair
I have pictures and am posting them in my album. They will be up later tonight or tommorow.

MonnieI don't remember off the top of my head exactly which ingredients, but I do know there were some that were questionable to me. I called the company to ask if anything was vegetable sourced, or if they were all animal derived. She said that Monistat Derm cream, and the 7 day Treatment both have ingredients that were derived from "bovine and porcine sources" Boo for me. I was really impressed that they were able to give me that information, because IMO, not many companies will. I put in a request for a vegan version of their products, which I'm sure will go nowhere.
I ended up with Micatin. It says it cures athelets foot, jock itch and ringworm. Woo!![]()
Mmm bovine and porcine, lovely.
Maybe you can round up a few more veggies and vegans here to put in requests too, a few more voices might help it happen. It can't hurt anyway.
Redheads not warheads.
I've applied twice. This ish is annoying to apply! It takes me about 20 minutes to do my whole scalp. I don't know if I'm using enough either. It's a creme formula, and I've thought of mixing it with something else (veg. glycerin?), but I've read on other forums that mixing can make it less potent. Any thoughts? Sorry if this has been discussed!
