I generally only use conditioner + honey in my SMT, and I've been experimenting stirring some herbal hair rinse into my mix (after it's been microwaved).

So far it seems to make it easier to work through my hair and rinse out, which is nice, with no negative effects on the treatment itself.

Has anyone else had to leave honey out of this with hair growth? I didn't use to get stickiness from honey before, but with my current length I do. Aloe vera works very good at least when I rinse it out pretty carefully.

I don’t remember getting stickiness with honey, but it built up very quickly. I felt I had to clarify, so there wasn’t any point in including the honey.

I haven’t noticed any problems with the honey, but I’ve also made it with olive oil in its place when I’ve run out (so 4 parts conditioner, 1 aloe, 1 olive oil). It’s not really a proper substitution for the recipe of course but it was still a lovely treatment

That's how I usually now condition my hair and this works very good, especially kept overnight

Do you apply this to wet or dry hair?

Wet or damp, after washing. The first page in this thread has a lot of useful information about this popular treatment.

    * It's funny because I just can't do it!! I just can't use precious honey to put on my hair and wash it away! I think of the little bees working so hard, and it seems the best thing to do is to eat the honey with some butter on nice fresh bread and put the conditioner and aloe gel on my hair.
