    I've got 2 of those on each side of my head in the back, small ones, always thought they were regular cowlicks. Seems I only have one "true" cowlick, in front at my part (where it automatically parts and lays flat at the part in front).

    Those don't look like balding spots to me! I have fine hair as well and I'll have slivers of scalp showing sometimes, especially in updos. Also the greasier I let my hair get, the more of these I see. I don't think you have anything to worry about!

    I have this, big-time! I found a couple of things that really help. Switching to washing my hair upside down, and not combing it flat whilst wet. Let it dry looking like a terrible haystack and then finger comb. I also try to switch my parting often, and stick to a side part.

    All of these things stop it from falling too flat at the crown.

    If it's wider than it was, you're losing hair. Don't fear--virtually all women do eventually and catching it early means easy reversal.
