Well, I reviewed the item and mentioned it (1 star out of 5) and also messaged them through the web site. I'll send it back or maybe the store owner knows a way to get the smell out. I don't want to futz around with it very much. Haven't heard back from them yet. Thanks, guys!

There's a product you can purchase on amazon called Ozium that's made to take smells like cigarette smoke out of things, so if you end up not being able to return or exchange it, that may be worth investigating!
