I have a whole collection of brushes, TBH. For detangling, a WetBrush. For smoothing, a BB and nylon brush (my personal fave is the Spornette Large luxury cushion) For oiling, a Phillips #11 (polished metal pins, no ball tips). For just the best scalp massages, a Bass wooden bristle brush.

I have tried quite a few brushes, without a doubt my favorites are the wooden TEK ones. I also have boar bristles from a Spanish brand, those are all good but the wooden ones are hard to find that are worth it.

I only brush a couple times a week since starting my wavy routine. I like the tangle teezer with handle for gentle pre-shower detangling, and a wooden brush for stimulating my scalp.

I bought a new boar bristle brush a few months ago because I am presently doing no washing/sebum only. Here's a link to it:

I have a Mason Pearson BB brush, but though way more expensive, it does not work nearly as well as the Calcutta Max. The Calcutta Max has way longer, thicker and firmer bristles than the MP, and can get through to my scalp much, much better. I love it!

I have a ton of brushes. The one I use the most is a cheapo plastic paddle brush from the supermarket.
I use a wide-tooth comb as well sometimes.
I have some very nice goat bristle brushes, but very rarely use them.
Got a tangle teezer, but feelings are mixed. I think it's usually too dense for my thin hair, but for a very bad tangle it may be what I need.
Got some "mens' pocket combs" too. Mainly for styling and playing.

Would like a wooden high-end paddle.

I have the WIDU brush and it's great. I believe TEK makes the same brushes now. I think those are the best wooden bristle brushes by far.

Has anyone tried the "Unbrush" that's going viral on TikTok right now? It looks like a pretty good brush, but I just bought a brush and don't want to spend the money on another one right now.

after reading a few threads about brushes here, i kind of wanted to order the wet brush to try and see... and when i visited my mom, she had bought a dupe. tried it, and i'm so glad i didn't get it! it felt exactly like i thought it would from looking at it, just put it into my ends and it got stuck immediatelly. the bristles were super soft (softer than the tanhle teezer but maybe a bit less soft than the nylon ones on a BBB) but it just didn't have the "fakir's bed" effect that the TT has, which prevents it from getting stuck on a tangle for me. i would be hesitant even trust the one for fine hair because the bristles are even farther apart.

i saw an unbrush type brush in the store (exactly the same look without the logo), it looked really cheap and gimmicky. the bristles were soft like TT but that's as far as the trying out went. i'd like to try it on hair, but after the WB experience i'm not going to blind buy a brush.
