I can't speak for anyone but myself but I have doctor approval to use both of the products for my particular problem.

Duly noted! Will be super vigilant with this and will stop applying straight away if I experience any weird side effects!

Someone on the post has medical knowledge and is worried that people with thyroid conditions will go undiagnosed. That is why I add my weird little disclaimer

I recommend Monistat for that exact reason- no Mineral oil
I am using the monistat derm 2% in the little tube and have long since thrown out the box with the ingredients on it. I have done a google search for "monistat derm ingredients" and everything that comes up says this:

MONISTAT-DERM (miconazole nitrate 2%) Cream contains miconazole nitrate* 2%, formulated into a water-miscible base consisting of pegoxol 7 stearate, peglicol 5 oleate, mineral oil, benzoic acid, butylated hydroxyanisole and purified water.
    *Chemical name: 1-[2,4-dichloro-b-{(2,4-dichlorobenzyl)oxy}phenethyl]imidazole mononitrate.

    So, I dunno. Weird.

you have looked up the wrong products

here are several ingredients list for just plain Monistat (blue lable aka monistat 3,7 usa)
    http://www.planetrx.com/shop/detail.cfm/sku/ad273

look down at bottom for product description
    http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/Consumers.../monistat7.htm

    What it looks like

MONISTAT® 7 Day Cream contains a 45g tube of white odourless MONISTAT® cream and 7 disposable plastic applicators.
    Ingredients

The active ingredient of MONISTAT® 7 Day Cream is miconazole nitrate.
The vaginal cream in MONISTAT® 7 Day Cream contains 20 milligrams of miconazole nitrate in each gram. It also contains isopropyl myristate, polysorbate 60, stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, propylene glycol, potassium hydroxide, benzoic acid and purified water.

i belive the supositories *may* have mineral oil in them but for the sake of everything i doubt ppl would melt them to apply to there scalp. The Monistat reference is based on the vaginal cream

    YAHOO search results:
    Monistat derm

Monistat is available in several formulations, including Monistat 3 vaginal suppositories, Monistat 7 vaginal cream and suppositories, and Monistat-Derm skin cream. Monistat's active ingredient, Miconazole, fights fungal infections.

Monistat 3 and Monistat 7 are used for vaginal yeast infections. Monistat-Derm is used for skin infections such as athlete's foot, ringworm, jock itch, yeast infection on the skin (cutaneous candidiasis), and tinea versicolor (a common skin condition that produces patches of white, tan, or brown finely flaking skin over the neck and trunk).

the "monistat derm" you searched is another MN product designed for ring worm and other skin conditions prescribed by a doctor and is not available over-the-counter, yes the kind you use does contain mineral oil.

I was gonna start this. Someone posted the link to get it on Walgreen's but i can't find it. x_x would someone mind pointing it out? I wouldn't want to get the wrong kind. Then when i order it I'm gonna use it full strength a couple hours before my CWC and see how that goes.

Huh. Well, I definitely have been using Monistat Derm all this time and it's been working wonders! And it was OTC, actually, it was on the store shelf. Too bad because it was really working well for me.

Paprikapapaya--Cute name! I figure if it working for you keep at it!

I have been using the generic creams and it makes my hair greasy and darker looking. Next time I'm going back to brand name Monistat.

I put it on after a regular washing and leave it until it gets washed again. Usually the next day, maybe 2 days, but no longer.

I have seen no illeffects from this, other then the little greasies, but then I just pull it up in a ponytail and don't worry about it? Yah, I'm a slacker some days!
