Bhringraj hair oil - Hesh

This is the one I've got.

Ingredients:
coconut oil
eclipta alba (maka/bhringraj)
amla
brahmi

I watched (EDIT: err... "looked" I meant) for an oil without mineral oil, and with the main ingredients that is in the beginning.

It says to massage 10-15 minutes before bedtime, and rinse away day after. I won't get with it to bed, but will massage it in in the morning, washing in the afternoon.

Ok! I'll try that.

So tomorrow will be:
- bhringraj oil (Hesh) on scalp, coconut milk on lengths.
- decyl glucoside (like neutral and I know how the result from this is exactly, not testing any herbs or eggs this time)
- another try with catnip infusion, now after a "good" decyl glucoside wash.

When I get amla (Indian store gets it in ebout 2-3 weeks), I will try more complex Indian herb wash, with shikakai, amla, aritha and maybe hibiscus. AND preoiling.

Every Hesh package with powder, cost 2.5 US$ in that store.

If Bhringraj oil is good for me, I then can use that for scalp on regular basis.

Yesterday I washed my hair with my herb mix without pre-oiling, and it came out really really soft and shiny! So I think that I might do the pre-oil only occasionally. I'll pay attention and see if not pre-oiling causes any dryness in the future, but wow, my hair came out really nice!

I've noticed that too. Pre-Oiling is only necessary once or twice a week for me if I wash more often. When I cut back to 2 times a week again I'll only have to do the Pre-Oiling on the weekend.

Yesterday with my leftover soapnuts from my Soapnut liquid batch, I made a "Super Soapnut Liquid" Today when I got home I felt brave and added just a little of the regular liquid to one oz of this super SN liquid and washed with it (no pre-oiling) It's drying right now. So far it seems a little dryer than usual, but not too bad. I'll update when it's completely dry. The foam was so thick and smooth, very easy to apply and a little went much further. This foam is different, more creamy and the 1.5 oz made MUCH more foam to apply. I actually had enough for my hair, and body. I washed my face with it and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone (at least not full strength) it was quite drying.

ETA: Now that my hair is completely dry, it's a tad bit dry with a little frizz (nothing compared to pre-herbs). I put a very small amount of Jojoba on the length and ends to tame the frizz. Nothing terrible, lots of body and thickness in ponytail circumference, and still very soft and shiny.

Oh, that reminds me! I meant to mention that I wash my face with the Indian herb mixture too, it really makes my skin soft, smooth and clear. No more soap on my hair or face for me!

I've used Amla and Neem on my face and really liked them. This soapnut foam was probably just too strong, I have a batch brewing right now that will be really mild (3rd soaking, no blending) I may just use that for my face and body in the future.

What does it smell like, if you don't mind sharing?

I can't describe this smell very easy.

But I think it smells good (great even). Combination of flower and a bit of the smell of "mixed Indian herbs" (like when going in to a Indian store, the smell that tells you it is Indian).
Mostly flower though. I like the smell, it is nice and "round", not any like citrus- or rosemary-like more sharp smells.

But - this is when I smell the oil when the coconut is not melted. Maybe some other smell is in the bottom and will be noticed when I warm the oil up.
If so, I will report an update on the smell.
