    From what I've read and researched, I believe that the change in curvature is only after many applications and doesn't last "forever".

    It doesn't last forever, but for me it's an immediate effect. When my hair is starting to get too curly for me to handle with my usual methods, I put on another layer of henna in part to calm it down.
