I'm sorry, wintersun, but I dislike the whole premise of "ambush" makeovers. If I want a makeover, I'll ask for it. Otherwise, back off.

    Yep that's what I meant.
Also, what's with the cutting of any hair that's below shoulder length ?

I suppose, but it bothers me that the before shots have such poor lighting and the ladies all seem to have heavy winter coats on. It also bothers me when curly hair is straightened. It doesn't seem like the real woman.
That being said, I love a great makeover and have been a huge fan of BBC's What Not to Wear with Trinny and Susanah. Five years ago I took the plunge and had all my hair cut off and dyed. It was thrilling for awhile. It was so short that I couldn't put it in a ponytail. After two weeks I committed to growing it back out...lol

Could not have said it better myself! (But I'll try! LOL...just kidding! )

Of course, one always has the power to say no, unless there's a deeper problem at root, psychologically. As in, that these women are so desperate to feel liked or pretty, that they'll just go along with something they don't want, are unsure about, or are not ready for. And I also say shame on the people who suggest that these makeovers be done, because that's encouraging other people to judge by looks...which should never be done.

Slz, that woman looks 10 years older in her after!
No matter how much I try to be plain, people don't accept me, so I might as well be fabulous.

Yeah, a LOT of the women looks MUCH older in the after pictures. I admit some do look better, but that's a minority. The solution all over seem to be "cut a bob and add highlights" - sorry stylists, but that just doesn't apply to everyone.
