What Decided Your Goal Length?

I voted practicality; I don't really have a set goal length, I just plan to grow it until I'm happy with it. I'd like to be longish, somewhere around tailbone to classic, but if it's just too thick/wurly/huge for me to deal with at that length... I'll cut back to wherever it was last manageable. It doesn't matter that my hair is astoundingly long if I absolutely hate dealing with it!

Growing my hair long began as complete practicality. I like to have times when my hair is completely out of my way. I didn't like having to get my hair cut frequently (read: monthly), so very short was out, and so my other option was longer. I tried chin and that's what drove me to growing long. Nothing kept it out of my face. Clips, headbands, nothing. Drove me nuts.

Then I really loved the style variations with longer hair, braids, ponytails, twists...and eventually buns and hair toys.

But regarding goal length-which is terminal for me-well that's complete vanity and curiosity. How long will it get?? That's what I want to know. I don't know if I can argue ankle length practicality for my own lifestyle, although I can for waist and hip etc.

My current length is not a problem. I don't find it a hassle. I'd like to think that if it was I'd cut it shorter...after I discover my terminal length. But, really, I won't know until I'm there.

Vanity. My practical side has *almost* made me chop off my hair into a bob several times since I started growing, but the vanity part says NO! Don't!

I'm growing to terminal by the way, so if it drags across the floor one day, then so be it.

Both. I can't deny there is a little bit on vanity but I want it practicle : I want large but not huge buns and a hair really long (for most people) but not enough to sit on it. Maybe I will adjust my goal later, for practical or aesthetical reasons.

I want to know what it's like, once in my life, to have hair that reaches the floor.

Vanity is part of it. It's pretty practical to have hair that you can toss into an updo in 30 seconds or less, although my washing routine is far from practical.

Practicality Wins… At least for now. My hair has outgrown my arms

I want hair that will look good up and down, and isn't too much of a pain to deal with. So it is a bit of both.

Neither. Mine is "curiousity." I was almost to knee before and I just want to see how long it gets, either before it stops growing or before I cut back to an easier length. I am used to having it at classic, I was like that from little tyke to age 17.
