I scrunch/plop with some aloe if I want my waves/curls to hold longer.

    Recently, I've just been plopping.

I neither scrunch nor plop. My method for bringing out my curls is washing with lots of moisturizing conditioner, then lightly oiling when the hair is slightly damp.

I usually scrunch my curl creme into wet hair, squeeze water out while scrunching, and then plop in a microfiber towel. I'm interested in this "sculpting"/hair snake business, though!

When my hair is long I find it is best not to touch it too much otherwise it gets frizzy and nasty looking. If I leave it after conditioning and combing it will generally go in lovely defined curls but the moment my fingers or a comb goes near it they vanish. It is hard as I automatically touch my hair a lot!

I've tried both with limited success, I'm still learning to make my curly hair behave in something other than frizz. THANK YOU to all of you posting your routines, this thread is like a basket full of pure magic so far. I'm still working my way through all the various methods to see which one works for me the best.

Naturally I have very straight hair but to give it some texture I twist it when it's just barely damp. It took a long time to figure out just how damp it needed to be- for me it has to be almost completely dry. Then I either twist it into a bun or in two "ringlets" over either shoulder. When it dries I have big, loose waves that hold up rather well, though the crown is still completely straight.

I am a curly and I have plopped before, but never really scrunched. I haven't plopped in years though.

Plopping works for me. I never scrunch.

I just scrunch some conditioner (for sure always) and sometimes gel in it (sometimes).
