I wonder about this too. I'm 57 and my hair is definitely thinner than when I was younger, even up into my 30s. I don't know how much of it is due to decades of not taking care with how I treated it, stress and covid shed though. I'm trying really hard to maximize whatever growth and thickness I can (in a healthy way) while I still have a chance...mending the sins of my youth sort of thing.

I'm fighting it every step of the way bc my individual hair strands are very fine and so I need every single piece of hair.

Yes, but I am 27. I was expecting this to happen in way more years.

One of the things that bums me the most about having thin hair is that I just cannot for the life of me pull off a half-up hairstyle. I just don't have enough hair to put half of it away and have the rest look decent. In a half pony it looks okay from the side, because it adds volume from the side view, but from the front it's so so bad. Like I'm balding. Half bun is just a no.

I lament this because a lot of my inspiration aesthetics are heavy on the half-ups, such as elvish or xianxia.
