10 bumps. I could probably get 11 or 12, but then it would be very untidy. 40 is really amazing!

I counted 14 bumps in this pic...but it's looser than one of my normal braids. The one I'm wearing now, actually, has 25 bumps...so you can imagine the difference that a tighter braid will make, as far as bump-counting. Sorry I don't have a pic of today's braid, to compare!!

Here's mine heh - wet, and messy, and desperate

I swear I zoomed in and counted all the little bumps in the end.

Soft hair that is nice to sit on - now I'm bragging!

I think there are 14. I could have braided further, but I got tired.

I'm planning on maintaining at TB for a while to thicken my ends. I wonder whether my bump count will decrease!

I have no bumps, but it's great to see other peoples. Er, does that sound slightly, er, odd? I can't wait until I can bump too.

I counted 17 - the last bump is hidden on the bottom.

Thank you all for playing along! You're absolutely right, the bumps are meaningless and vary from person to person due to varying thicknesses. But, I do like to count them because it shows me my hair really is growing as I get more and more bumps. I braided mine until I couldn't braid any more. I wasn't looking for a tassel.

Here are my three different bump counting pictures, dated 042708, 092308 & my last one 022309 (I'm wearing the same black sweatshirt cardigan in each shot, the first image is in natural light, the second two are indoor flash) :

I love being able to see the differences in my pictures. I do not like seeing how much of my thickness I have lost, though. It seems to be coming back now *knock wood*. My circ was down to 3.5" and is now back up to 4". I will be cutting back to somewhere between waist and hip sometime this year, so hopefully my thickness will gradually return as I continually trim.

There are some seriously beautiful braids here! I love seeing the differences in textures and color patterns. And for those of you who have no bumps yet, you have much to look forward to! I just think this is fun! I love looking at all the different braids. How different the straight hair braids are from the curlies. They're all so beautiful!

I tried to quote the part with thin hair-more bumbs, but couldnīt. This is me and my daughter, we both have
six bumbs. Hmm, why donīt I ever wear my hair
    in a braid....
