That's funny, my hair has been looking lighter in color lately. Where did you find this information?

I'm also confused by this. Is it really the fact?? I never noticed any change.
I experienced the darkening myself, actually. Several of my friends have as well. Nothing dramatic, but some (lighter-haired) have been bothered.
Maybe depends on the oil, the hair, and if you're doing other stuff to your hair?
Don't know.. I actually used it straight. Not mixed with other oils.
I used to use castor oil a lot as a scalp treatment when I was still in school and it did help my hair grow faster, as well as contributed greatly to the oerall health of my hair. I was using it to soothe scalp iritations, and it did a great job at that as well.
Lately, I started using it again as my hair became very very dry after all the chemical processing I've put it through...
Now I made a mix of castor oil, EVOO, glycerin, honey and a bit of water in a spritzer bottle and I just spritz it all over my hair and scalp and leave it overnight. This really makes my hair soft and shiny.
I have tried a bunch of different oils and still feels like castor oil is the best for my hair.
Katze: so much the better, then :)
I love, love, love castor oil!!! I've been using it mixed with a little bit of coconut oil after thinning it (castor oil) with some EO.
I have tried it by itelf in the past & it's worked really well, especially in regrowing my hairline.
I would recommend trying it diluted & using a drop of it to massage scalp all over - try for at least a month or 2 to see it it works for you.... (if it's too greasy or sticky then dillute some more or to your liking)
OK, now I'm curious... What ratios are you using of castor oil to other oils? And where are you getting the castor -- is this just the pharmacy stuff that's supposed to have, um, digestive effects, or do you order it online for skin/haircare?
I tend to do 50/50.
I get mine (organic) from a French website, which I'm afraid may not be of much help to you
