Default Do your favourite FORKS ........

.......have flat edge prongs? In other words when you look at the back of your favourite fork are the edges of the prong rounded of more shaped like a sideways capital D - the straight part of the D being the back of the fork.

OR do the prongs look more like a sideways capital O?

I am sanding down my forks and wonder what type of angle these need to be for the best comfort AND hold.

At the moment the prongs that are more D shape are easier to insert and have a much better hold.
    (For me personally)
    Thanks

Just did a quick survey of my forks:

Jeterfork, Baerreis and 60th Street are all flat backed (that is D shaped)

Elymwold and Wood Art Jewelry are more rounded. I don't own any, but I have tried Grahtoe Studio, and they are also rounded (O shaped).

My favs, for comfort, are the D shaped ones. For aesthetics, Elymwold are fantastic ...

    I don't really have a preference.

Flat edge, round edge, lots of taper, no taper, curved, straight, etc.. I don't have a favorite

I have a few flat shaped forks; lately though I've gone for the rounded forks. It's somehow more comfy with a shape that adjusts to the head.

Thanks Stellaaa, Lapushka, Aderyn and Johanna.
It seems like there's no right way or wrong way its just personal preference.
Some people prefer the flatter prongs while others prefer the rounded ones.
I know hair thickness plays a part in the comfort factor ; not only the distance between prongs but overall shape and taper. I wonder how much hair texture plays into the overall comfort and preference.

Guess I am pretty fickle with my primary hairtoy adoration being with my most recent acquisition. But... I did just get my first 4 prong Jeterfork, and it is lightweight and holds like a rock. But.... I still love my TT's, Crocket Mountain acrylics and twisted wood stick with a pretty stone on top, and Good Village Woodworks 4 prong Dymondwood. It's hard to decide! Just depends for me on if my hair is damp or not which hairtoy I choose to use! Good luck!! They are all lovely!!
