Yup, for me it's vanity! I think that hair shorter than floor-length is not impractical, as long as you know how to take care of it properly, but perhaps I can only say that because I've never had hair longer than waist, haha.
Yes this is probably the 100,000th post about the subject but i was currious if vanity outweighed practicality or vise-versa. For myself vanity won i wanted that wow factor of hair that you can sit on. To me at that length any hairdo is impressive up, down, or braid, im willing for things to be less conveinient in order to have longer hair .
How about you all?

A little of both for me. My goal is about tailbone since I think that is the limit of practicality for my hair. Short hair has its own impracticality too in my opinion, so I guess its my inner engineer speaking.
Vanity. I've never had hair longer than BSL, so I haven't had practicality issues, but I figure that if I like it, it's worth any hassles I can overcome.
I voted practicality. I'm at waist+ and so far I haven't had any problems with impracticality I don't have a set goal beyond "longer". But if it starts being a hassle, then I will cut back to a length I feel happier with handling.
I voted a little of both. It has been a long time since I had long hair so BSL seemed like a good length to try, I will be able to pull it up with little trouble, but also be able to wear it down and it looks so pretty. At least that is what DH said (he is the biggest reason for vanity )
Vanity 100%. If I wanted practical, I'd shave my head.

I'm 50/50. With my hairtype and the fact that I colour my hair, waist length is probably more realistic than my goal of tailbone. If I can't make it to tailbone with healthy looking and feeling hair, I'll be quite happy with waist (which I know I can achieve, as I've just about done it before--until I wrecked my hair, yet again) or hip length.
Both. I'm of the vanity camp because I love it long and flowing, the practicality camp because once I can sit on it I don't think I'll want it that long. I *think* I'll be stopping at hip, but if you see me years down the road with hair to my ankles, don't remind me of this.
