How often Do You Trim?

Whenever needed. I didn't trim for years. Now I'm trimming because I'm staying at one length and I want to thicken up the ends a bit.

I went from being a non-trimmer, to a frequent trimmer, and now I think I want to go to being an in between trimmer, lol. When I didn't trim I never noticed too much of a problem with split ends, but I guess I'm not a big fan of fairy tale ends for myself, so I started trimming and got addicted to the blunt look, but since I'm such a slow grower I haven't been noticing much growth progress. I think I'm going to adopt the twice a year method. Really enjoying reading and hearing about all of your different methods .

At the moment I'm taking a no trim approach because my hair isn't even shoulder and all my ends are healthy, but as it gets longer I suspect I'll only trim when I feel my hemline is irregular or needs cleaning up, so I selected very infrequently/never. I'm mostly trying for benign neglect at the moment so that for me includes no trims.

Every feb/march and it's a shape-up because I have layers, but never more than an inch!

Up until now, i have gotten a trim every few months. like every 3-4 months. and i would get about half an inch or inch off each time. I had my last trim a couple weeks ago and i'm not trimming until June 1st !

I try to trim every 4 months just 1/2 and inch or less. unless there is major damage. i'll be trying to not trim in 2011 except in Feb. when i hope to be near shoulder length, will trim just to even hemline, my hair seems to grow crooked, the left side has been growing faster than the right side.

I trim about every 8 weeks and try to follow a moon calendar so I won't get the urge to trim so often. I trim less than 1 cm, but it's keeping my ends healthy and helps me grow out the layers.

I haven't had a trim in about two years now. I actually want my hemline to be thinner
I try to do S&D on the splits, but I'm lazy about that too.

I tried to go every 6 weeks but usually forgot about it until my hair started acting up . I ended up just going when I felt I needed it ; which often varied between 3-6 months. I would get a major trim each time I went , atleast 3 inches. I wasn't trying to grow my hair long then . Now I will go when I feel I need it but only get a small trim or dusting

For the past few years I've "gotten a haircut" every 5 or 6 months. This meant getting it cut so the back was stacked and shorter than the nape of my neck and the front was about chin length.

Since I've started growing it out again, my goal is not to trim it at all.
