We try to keep LHC as non-commercial as possible, so we don't allow solicitations of any kind. This includes contest votes, "likes" on Facebook, charitable requests, and anything that falls under our vendor guidelines.

We know it's not your intent to SPAM the community and that Facebook contests are harmless, but to be fair to everyone and keep LHC the advertising-free (except for Google) and relaxing (most of the time

) community it is, we disallow all of this sort of thing equally.

I'm going to leave this thread up, because it's a very good question.
