Welcome to LHC abjonsdottir. Me. I'm a baby boomer. I don't care what's 'in'. Body is mature - spirit is eternal.
Looking forward to getting to know you.

Welcome! Your hair is lovely. There are a few of us on the boards. As spidermom said, silver hair is associated with aging and that verboten!

For most people that I've seen, white/silver/gray hair goes well with the skin tones of an aging person, much better than dyed hair usually. And there's always makeup if a little help is desired.

WONDERFUL! I make it a strict POLICY to always eat dessert first! As a vegan that includes all non-milk chocolates, delicious fruits and the BEST?! Chocolate black bean fudge (Dr. Oz showed this great recipe on Oprah one day and it's on his and Weight Watchers' websites!) ALL DAY LONG! We Baby Boomers are the BEST!!! I look forward to one day leaving this podunk of a state (Texas) and a worse podunk (San Antonio) one day, hopefully soon and going to the NIRVANA (Kurt, are you listening, Mr. Genius in the Afterlife) of the silvers....SEATTLE!!!! Looking forward to getting to know ALL of us like-minded silver kings and QUEENS!

On the other hand, I have seen gorgeous silver or grey hair on some women and have envied them their good looks in silver or grey hair. However, not all women have the right coloring to look good in silver or grey hair and those that don't and resort to dying their grey or silver are in no way less mature or sophisticated than those that decide to keep their natural silver or grey.
Red Rapunzel, you are also right....my maternal great aunt had beautiful Scandinavian RED hair that Freya would have been proud of. She started to look gingery in her 60's. So she didn't go silver as early as I did...85% in my 40's. She had the typical skintones for redheads that eventually faded as her hair got more gingery and silver. What she did to make the ginger look fabulous? She wore a lot of aquas, turquoises, PINKS and even corals. And she wore these wonderful pink toned glasses, too. This was in the 1950's!!! So becoming the Wise Women we are all destined to be is in our own control and, made with our OWN choices! Glad to talk to you!

I love long silver hair too. This thread is just the place for me.

I'm still new here. So, I can't upload photos yet.

You can go over to Photobucket and sign up for a free account, upload pictures there, then link the image (the 4th line of code that says IMG) to here.

    Do it now.
