Always behave like a duck -
keep calm and unruffled on the surface but paddle like the devil underneath.
When you first join hoping for maybe waist length... and a few years later you are still here posting about the struggles of achieving a thick hemline at "tailbone length" and gaze longingly at those with classic-to-knee hair.

It happens surprisingly often around here. You have been warned!

One day: "I think my hair might be too long. Maybe it would be cool to have it cut to... maybe... mid-back, for a change."
A Google search, a forum registration, and a few posts later: "Ya know what would be cool? If my hair were long enough that I could sit on it!"
A few weeks later, having still not regained Hip after the last trim: "Hey! I wonder if I could grow my hair down to my knees?"

When you consider any length beyond waist to be completely acceptable and practical.
When you have asked for advice on one of the threads not related to your hair because someone you know had a hair question that you couldn't answer.
When you see a hair product in the store and think, "So-and-so on LHC said this stuff was really good. Maybe I should try it." And then try it.
When you consider a seven step washing process twice a week to be preferable to daily S&C and blow drying. (WCC LOCC)
When you order a three month supply of your favourite products, because they aren't available in the area you are going to.
